[00:24.86]but no one knows how we came to this land or when.

[00:33.94]living in this land mistiness and cold,sun and rain and snow,
[00:40.03]people keep coming and going, barely leaving traces they’ve been here at all.
[00:46.29]A fierce pro-land filled with stories and magic and danger.
[00:56.08]A long time ago, their was a kingdom call Dun Broch,
[01:00.73]the kingdom was ruled by king Fergus who was strong and brave,
[01:04.91]and queen Elinor who was wise and fair.
[01:09.30]King Fergus has lost his leg when he fought with a demon bear named Mordu.
[01:14.25]The king swore that one day he would defeat the bear once for all.
[01:19.57]The king and queen had brought children
[01:22.42]Hamish, Hubert and Harris who were triplets.
[01:25.02]They always call this mischef and yet they never got a trouble,
[01:29.56]and then there was princess Merida.
[01:31.70]It seems that she could do nothing but getting trouble.
[01:36.63]Merida would be queen someday.
[01:38.71]And her mother wanted to make sure that she was prepared.
[01:43.40]A princess enjoys elegant pursuits,
[01:48.04]a princess laughts with her eyes,
[01:51.67]a princess must be knowledgeable about her kingdom,
[01:55.49]A princess did not talk while chewing food,
[01:58.68]or plays weapons on a dining table,
[02:01.20]or even have weapons when it’s a great openning.
[02:04.15]There were so many rules!
[02:07.67]Merida much prefer to put the full speed to the country to her horse—angus,
[02:12.94]she loved archery and was very good at it.
[02:15.88]She liked to climb up the waterfalls,
[02:18.16]and she liked to yell just as loud as sheep at least.
[02:23.62]One evening , queen ordinarly see the messages from the clans from the Macintosh、MacGuffin and Dingwall.
[02:30.42]She told Merida that three boys from each clan will compete a policy games,
[02:36.33]the princess would marry the winner.
[02:38.54]Merida was horrified, marriage!
[02:42.13]‘ I’ll not go through with it. You can’t make me !'
[02:44.62]She ran out of the room,
[02:47.05]queen Elinor followed Merida,
[02:49.80]she began a story about an ancient kingdom,
[02:52.12]whose king divided the land among his four sons,
[02:54.84]but one prince wanted to rule the land himself,
[02:58.52]he followed  his own path and the kingdom fell apart.
[03:03.34]Merida rolled her eyes, ‘that’s a nice sroty.’
[03:06.58]The queen looked at her daughter,
[03:09.30]'It’s not just a story, Merida, legends are lessons they ring with truth.'
[03:19.87]Despite Merida’s protest, the clans are  left.
[03:22.44]The princess was allowed to decide their challenge.
[03:26.44]Merida had an idea,‘I choose archery.’
[03:31.63]The queen threw her hands in the air, ‘ Let’s the game begin!’
[03:37.70]The clans competed in Tagorbore, hammer throw、shinty and finally archery.
[03:44.62]Stalky young MacGuffin tried it first almost missing his target,
[03:49.88]and young Macintosh was slightly off center,
[03:53.46]but to everyone surprised, small wee Dingwall made a perfect shot.
[03:59.69]Then a held figure stepped out,
[04:03.14]‘I am Merida, firstborn descendant in Dun Broch and I’ll be shooting for my own hands.’
[04:12.62]Queen Elinor grows from her seat,‘Merida, I forbid it !’
[04:18.49] Merida began to aim,  both aims, she hit the center of every target!
[04:24.91]Furiously queen Elinor took Merida into the castle,
[04:29.95]'I’ve just about have enough of you, lass, you embarrassed them, you embarrassed me ! '
[04:34.66]Merida glared at her mother, ‘This whole marriage is what you want,
[04:40.60]do you ever bother to ask what I want! I’m not going to be like you!’
[04:44.17]Merida turned to the family’s tapestry hanging on the wall
[04:48.83]and slashed it with her sword. Then she ran out of the castle.
[04:55.59]The princess raced through the woods on her horse .
[04:58.31]Suddenly Angus stopped short, Merida flew off  and landed on the ground.
[05:04.71]She found herself inside a circle of stones where glowing blue lights flittered.
[05:10.36]Merida followed the lights through the woods until she saw a small cottage
[05:14.40]when she open the cottage door, she saw an old woman.
[05:18.33]Merida knew the woman was a witch and she beg for her spell,
[05:23.20]the witch said.
[05:24.77]She told Merida that long ago she had met a prince
[05:27.97]he demanded her to give him the strength of ten men.
[05:31.61]‘And did he get what he was after?’
[05:33.80]The witch looked at Merida with narrowed eyes and nodded,
[05:37.96]' that was all that Merida need to know.'
[05:40.22]'That’s not I want, I want a spell that changes my mother, that’ll change my fate.’
[05:46.37]The witch began throwing  things into a pot
[05:49.01]suddenly  the combination  was exploded. The witch pulled out a little cake.
[05:57.92]When Merida returned to the castle, her mother was relieved to see her,  she hugged Merida,
[06:03.19]' I’ve been worried sick.' Merida was surprised, 'you were? '
[06:07.65]'I didn’t where you’d gone or when you’d come back to,
[06:10.83]I didn’t know what to think ……
[06:12.85]of course we both know a decision still has to be made.’
[06:17.22]Merida frowned, she showed queen Elinor the cake.’It’s a peace offering.’
[06:23.37]The queen smiled and took a bite.
[06:26.14]And the two walked down the hallway, the queen stumbled ‘oh, suddenly  I’m not so well.’
[06:36.66]Merida let queen Elinor to her bedroom and took her mother in.
[06:40.84]After a few minutes, the queen rose from the bed, the sheet followed with her.
[06:46.73]And there, in front of Merida stood a  ‘Bear!’
[06:53.47]Queen Elinor looked at the mirror and roared,
[06:57.44]what has the spell done? What had Merida done?
[07:01.74]The queen roared even louder and ran out of the door.
[07:05.73]Merida chased after her,'what ‘re  you doing?  Dad, the bear king?
[07:13.16]If he so much as sees you, you’re dead.’
[07:15.88]Queen Elinor stopped, Merida was right but they heard voices .
[07:22.81]They ran down the hallway and right into the triplets.
[07:25.96]With the boy’s help, Merida gets the queen out of the castle.
[07:29.28]Merida turned to her brothers
[07:31.63]‘now, I’ll be back soon, go on and hep yourself to anything you want, as a reward.’
[07:37.43]The triplets were excited, they love sweets!
[07:41.00]Merida and queen Elinor race to the woods,
[07:44.35]they need to reverse the spell, but night has fallen, so they took shelter.
[07:50.75]Then next morning, Merida used her bow and arrow to catch fish,
[07:55.42]then she showed her mother how to catch them using her paws.
[07:58.53]For the first time and a while,
[08:00.78]Merida and her mother had fun together.
[08:05.62]When they finally found the witch’s cottage ,
[08:08.13]no one was there, suddenly a message came from the witch’s container, it told them
[08:14.01]‘ Fate be changed, look inside,  mend the bond, torn by pride.’
[08:22.14]Merida saw the same blue light she had seen the day before.
[08:25.17]She turned to her mother, ‘They will show us the way.’
[08:30.32]Merida followed the light through a crumbling ruin,
[08:32.79]it was cold and eeriness. ‘I have no idea what this place is.’
[08:38.37]Just then the ground gave way underneath the princess.
[08:43.68]She tumbled into an ancient throne room,
[08:46.88]there she saw a huge stone sculpture, four princes.
[08:51.88]She looked up to her mother who caring her above.
[08:55.11]‘It’s supposed to the kingdom in that story you were telling me?
[08:59.69]The one with the princes.’
[09:02.26]Suddenly, Merida noticed that this door was broken before the fourth prince.
[09:08.44]She gasped,The prince in her mother’s story and the one in witch’s story were the same. ’
[09:15.40]'The spell. It’s happened before,
[09:19.81]Merida looked around,claws were gauged in walls,
[09:23.70]bones were scattered on floor.'Oh no,The prince became Mordu.
[09:33.20]Merida gasped and she turned and saw the evil bear behind her.
[09:39.46]The princess barely escaped Mordu.
[09:42.38]She and the queen ran through the woods and they do need to reverse the spell soon,
[09:47.65]she remember the voice from the container.
[09:50.83]‘Mom, if we don’t hurry,  you’ll be a bear forever.
[09:54.59]Let’s the outside become the inside. Like Mordu,
[09:59.61]mend the bond, torn by pride. We have to get back to the castle,
[10:04.77]I know what to do, it’s the tapestry.’
[10:10.97]On the castle, they found the clans in the middle of a huge battle.
[10:14.71]Lord MacGuffin was angry,‘ You’re the king, you decide which one of our sons your daughter will marry.’
[10:23.05]King Fergus struggled to his throne
[10:25.24]' None of your sons are fit to marry my daughter.’
[10:29.12]Lord Dingwall didn’t like that ‘then our alliance is over. This means war!’
[10:36.24]Merida knew it’s up to her to stop the fight,
[10:39.00]it was her duty to choose who she marry.
[10:43.42]She took a deep breath and face the crowd.
[10:48.95]‘Our clans were once enemies,
[10:50.61]but when invaders threatened us from the sea,
[10:53.58]you joined together to defend our lands!
[10:57.88]It was an alliance forged in bravery and friendship
[11:03.25]and it lives to this day.
[11:07.62]And I know that I need to amend my mistake and mend our bond
[11:13.64]I’ve decided to do what’s right.'
[11:18.43]But as Merida looked towards her mother who was hidden,
[11:21.56]she saw that the queen was shaking her head,
[11:24.59]she was telling Merida that she didn’t have to choose after all.
[11:29.93]Merida looked back to the crowd,
[11:32.68]‘and…… , and……
[11:36.57]break tradition.

[11:57.40]follow our hearts and find love in our own time.’
[12:06.71]The king put the hand on her shoulder and smiled,
[12:10.03]‘Just like your mom.’
[12:14.12]As the crowd cheer,
[12:15.90]Merida slipped out and took her mother to the tapestry room.
[12:19.60]Suddenly the king Fergus threw open the door,
[12:22.63]he saw his daughter with a bear.
[12:25.40]Merida had to protect her mother,‘mom run !’
[12:28.94]As the queen raced out the castle,
[12:30.92]the clans were after her, they didn’t realize who she was.
[12:34.91]King Fergus locked Merida in the tapestry room to keep her safe, then rush to join the crew.
[12:40.84]Merida had to get out,
[12:42.65]her mother’s life depended on her.
[12:46.24]At that moment, the triplets appeared outside her door,
[12:50.27]only they looked a little different,
[12:53.36]they had finished all the spare cake and turned into bear cups.
[12:59.21]Quickly the cups help their sister escape.
[13:02.34]Merida grabed a needle and thread and the tapestry.
[13:06.07]She swiftly fell the top string together as Angus bounced through the woods .
[13:12.09]The hunting party call the queen and raise their swords .
[13:16.12]Queen Elinor roared and teffified,
[13:18.55]king Fergus raises his sword,
[13:21.31]but Merida bounds the woods and block the king,’ I’ll not let you kill my mother.’
[13:28.04]Just then, a huge beast step out in the rain of stones,
[13:32.37]Merida gasped ‘Mordu’
[13:35.83]King Fergus looked up to the bear,
[13:38.39]' kill it.’ While the demon bear  slapped  the hunters fly,
[13:42.78]he tore the king Fergus into  stones.
[13:46.36]Then he turned to Merida,
[13:49.54]queen Elinor ain’t allow what Mordu tend to do .
[13:52.72]The bears slashed each other,
[13:54.50]the queen came forward to charge a broken stone,
[13:58.23]the stone stumbled over, crashing the demon bear.
[14:07.28]Merida looked at her mother, she had finished mending the tapestry,
[14:11.72]but the queen was still a bear,
[14:14.99]‘ I don’t understand, oh mom, I’m sorry, this is all my fault,
[14:24.57]I want you back mom.’
[14:26.90]As Merida embraced her mother,
[14:29.37]morning light began to clip in and fill the rain of stones.
[14:33.19]Suddenly, Merida felt a human hand through her hair.
[14:38.24]Her mother wasn’t a bear any more!
[14:40.82]'Mom, you’re back !'
[14:43.69]'Perfect.' The queen smiled at her daughter.
[14:47.96]The triplets came running over,
[14:49.93]they were boys again!
[14:51.90]All was right in the kingdom of Dun Broch and the royal family hugged and laughed.
[14:57.24]Merida knew that from then on ,
[14:59.42]she could be a princess and still be herself.
