We found a quiet a corner
 and quiet? by the bar
 you told me of your life
 and what had brought you here
 and we watched the easing tide.

 You asked me of my past
 and told you all the truths
 I kept hidden inside
 what did I have to lose?
 we continued into the night.

 You said you would not hear
 of my life spent with some lady
 you cut deep in my heart
 but you barely even scratched me
 but I smile and say it's early days.

 And i do all I can
 to keep my life moving on
 moving on

 You took off all your clothes
 and you dived into the sea.
 I took all those photos, I swore no one should ever see
 and i joined you in the surf.

 One the cold had done it's worst
 we retired back inside
 we drank to our future
 and those we'd leave behind
 may they get what they deserve.

 Now we're stuck in some city
 with it's smoke and it's mirrors
 your mind on your bite
 The trace of your fear
 and i wonder what the hell am I doing here.

 Slow as I am
 I recognised in you
 the chance for something great
 a chance I could not lose
 cause what else in life is there?

 And i do all I can
 to keep my life moving on
