 I remember where I was the first time I saw elvis 
 In our living room on our black and white TV 
 he sang blue suede shoes, and when the song was over 
 I knew things would never be the same for me
 I grew up in a house where the doors were always open
 where a stranger was just someone I did not know
 with dreams of far off places and old guitars
 I fell asleep listenin' to the all night radio
 now the rooms in this old house are all empty 
 and sometimes I wonder just how far I've come
