Oh the news you bring 
How it changes things 
I could say it'll be all right 
But I don't mean it right now 
The hospital lights up and everyone comes back 
They're here for the coming thaw and cracks in the ice 
From cracks in the ice 
The deer and 
I will stay to witness the beauty of petrified trees caught in the freeze 
Every mile is numb 
They captured everyone warming our hands in the candlelight 
The power went out 
We walked around the house trying to find a bed 
To quiet our heads 
And listen for cracks in the ice 
We part a branch to find 
Our world's been crystallized 
And some of the ones you see are the ones who snare your dreams 
And some of those fallen things are strangely comforting to me
